The Project
An alphabet book written by @MrETheMotivator and illustrated by @DeltaTangoMike. 26 Letters and a drawing to go with each plus the usual extra pages for an introduction, copyright info and our bios.

The Process
Lots of concept art. It is important to get the likeness of Mr E! in a cartoon form because he is the main character of the book and he will be taking this book with him in his school visits and travels.

The Challenge
Visualizing the words used in the alphabet is not easy. Some of the words were very similar in meaning so creativity was used to the max!

Character Concept Sketches. I have been drawing Mr E! for some years now. The bald head and cool bow tie makes him an interesting character to draw.

Letters were pretty easy to imagine, I started with a very plain look but eventually I found the inspiration to create some cool looking fonts, inspired by graffiti.
As the project progressed, these letters evolved!
Lots and lots of sketching. I made sure the layouts followed the correct size of the final book as I wanted to have a composition that I can follow thru to the final art.
The clean art and book composition was laid out in Adobe Illustrator, 68 artboards!
Each page was moved over to Adobe InDesign to create the PDF file necessary for sending off to the printer.
Every letter!
Super sweet cover design.
